Tanzanian Building Agency (TBA), a government-owned institution responsible for developing housing for civil servants and public servants in Tanzania, is set to formalise a strategic partnership with Nigeria’s leading real estate firm, FIT Consult.
The proposed collaboration was confirmed during a working visit by Tanzania’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Selestine Kakele, who led a delegation of senior TBA officials to FIT Consult’s headquarters in Enugu, Enugu State. The visit aimed to strengthen ongoing discussions and assess the company’s capacity and vision for possible investment and project development in Tanzania.
“This visit marks a critical step forward,” said Kakele. “After several rounds of virtual discussions, it was necessary to inspect FIT Group’s project sites in person, engage with their management, and begin final investment negotiations.”
Kakele expressed admiration for FIT Consult’s large-scale real estate developments, describing the projects as amazing.
“My team and myself were shocked that such a monumental project was executed entirely by an African company, using local expertise and private capital. This demonstrates the strength and potential of African-led investment,” he added. The High Commissioner also highlighted the longstanding relationship between Nigeria and Tanzania, citing military cooperation and recent high-level engagements between both nations.
“Nigeria once helped us re-establish the Tanzanian Defence Force. Our presidents, HE Samia Suluhu Hassan and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu enjoy a strong working relationship.
President Tinubu even visited Tanzania during the Energy Summit, further deepening bilateral ties.”
Kakele assured that Tanzania provides a secure and attractive environment for foreign investors. “Through the Tanzanian Investment Centre, we ensure that all foreign investments are well-protected by law. This partnership with FIT Consult will be handled with utmost professionalism and transparency,” he said.
He also referenced the growing Nigerian business presence in Tanzania, citing major companies such as Dangote Cement, UBA, Access Bank, and Sahara Energy as key examples of successful investment in the country.
Chief Loretta Aniagolu, CEO of FIT Consult, welcomed the collaboration. “We are honoured by the interest shown by TBA and look forward to building a mutually beneficial partnership that can deliver impactful housing and infrastructure solutions in Tanzania,” she said.
The partnership, if finalised, is expected to expand FIT Consult’s footprint across Africa and contribute significantly to Tanzania’s public infrastructure and housing sector.
