There was pandemonium on Tuesday in Kogi state, North Central Nigeria, as suspected thugs invaded the State House of Assembly and descended on member representing Igala mela- Odolu constituency, Hon Friday Sanni Makama and beat him to pulp.

The Speaker of the assembly , Hon Umar Imam escaped being lynched by the thugs as everyone including journalists ran helter skelter when the thugs invaded the plenary and descended on the lawmakers.
Witnesses said immediately the suspected thugs gained access  into the assembly floor, some of them pounced on Makama, batter  and dragged him out from the assembly complex where they allegedly stripped half naked.
It was gathered that the intervention of the deputy speaker , Hassan Bewa saved the lawmaker from being lynched as he was said to have pleaded profusely to the thugs to show mercy on the embattled lawmaker who was  in the pool of his own blood.
