Panic gripped residents of Oke-bale, Osogbo, Osun State on Tuesday as the remain of a middle-aged woman was discovered with her head and hands missing.

It was gathered that the woman who was suspected to be mentally unstable had been homeless for some months at Oke-bale where she was allegedly dragged into the back of the shops directly opposite Osogbo Local Government Secretariat and butchered.

Some traders in the area who wanted to open their shops on Tuesday morning, discovered the corpse of the woman and immediately returned home for fear of being arrested by the security.

The spokesperson of the police, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident, saying that investigation has begun.

“It is true. We have contacted the concerned authority to take care of the corpse, while the investigation is ongoing,” Opalola said.
