Former Imo State Governor, Chief Achike Udenwa and former deputy governor, Emeka Ihedioha have led a fundraising drive for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Imo State, with supporters raising N219.7 million for the party’s operations.
Udenwa expressed optimism that ADC would make significant gains in the 2027 elections, citing the party’s strong presence in the state. He urged members to unite and take the party to their wards, saying, “Our people will join ADC when they see us.”
Ihedioha, who led his supporters in donating N219.7 million, emphasized the party’s commitment to rescuing Nigerians from various challenges.
Dr. James Okoroma, state ADC chairman, praised the party’s growth, saying they have established strong structures in Imo’s 305 wards.
The event saw Paul Mbadiwe, son of Kingsley Mbadiwe, late former prime minister of the first republic, officially defect to ADC.
