Super Eagles fall below Africa’s top five FIFA rankings

Super Eagles

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have fallen below Africa’s top five FIFA rankings and are placed 43rd globally, according to the latest reports.

The rankings list released on Thursday shows that the Super Eagles moved upward from 44th place to 43rd.

The figures are based on the team’s performance in recent matches, which saw them record two victories and two draws.

Eric Chelle’s side, however, find themselves in sixth position on the continent after they dropped one position in FIFA’s rankings.

Ivory Coast now sit at number four on the list, rising five places to become the 41st-best nation in Africa.

The Super Eagles’ last outing ended in disappointment after a draw against Zimbabwe.

They are in fourth place in the 2026 World Cup qualifying series, with seven points from six matches.
