Summit Bank shares vision for ethical, inclusive finance

Summit Bank

Summit Bank Ltd, Nigeria’s newest non-interest financial institution, has formally unveiled its vision to deliver ethical, transparent and inclusive financial services that meet the needs of individuals, businesses and communities both locally and in the Diaspora.

Speaking at the bank’s headquarters in Abuja, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Sirajo Salisu, affirmed that Summit Bank is “live, well-regulated, fully operational, and ready to serve Nigerians with clarity, integrity, and purpose.”

He said the bank’s entry into the market reflects a growing demand for responsible finance that prioritises fairness and transparency.

“We have followed the conversations with interest and gratitude. The curiosity and questions we’ve observed show that people care deeply about ethical finance,” Dr. Salisu noted. “Our establishment goes beyond speculation, we are here to redefine what ethical banking means in practice.”

Amid earlier speculations linking Summit Bank to Zenith Bank due to the presence of former Zenith executives on its board, the bank’s Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Mukhtar Adam, clarified that Summit Bank is an independent institution.

“While some of our directors have built distinguished careers at top financial institutions such as Zenith Bank, Summit Bank is a standalone entity, governed by a professional board and fully compliant with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulations,” he explained.

Dr. Adam outlined the bank’s mission “to be the trusted partner providing ethical banking solutions that empower individuals and communities while creating a positive impact.” He added, “Our services are transparent and free of hidden costs, backed by robust technology and seasoned professionals.”

Licensed by the CBN in February 2025 after its incorporation in July 2024, Summit Bank’s offerings include Savings and Current Accounts, Mudarabah Term Deposits, Sukuk Investments, and tailored SME and Corporate Solutions. Guided by values of stewardship, integrity, and innovation, the bank aims to make non-interest banking accessible, practical, and impactful for every Nigerian.
