Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has embarked on a week-long working visit to Beijing, China, to explore global partnerships aimed at boosting the state’s agricultural sector.

In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Ibrahim Addra, on Saturday, it was stated that the visit, undertaken at the invitation of LOVOL Heavy Industries Company Ltd., underscores the governor’s commitment to industrialising Nasarawa State and creating wealth through agriculture.

Addra said, “The trip demonstrates Governor Sule’s unwavering dedication to attracting investments that will revolutionise Nasarawa’s agricultural and industrial landscapes. His administration is keen on fostering collaborations that will yield economic growth and job creation.”

“Nasarawa State has gained significant attention in mining and agriculture due to the administration’s proactive policies and initiatives aimed at attracting foreign and local investors.”

“The cassava factory in Gudi and the rice harvesters in Jangwa are just the beginning,” Addra added. “Governor Sule’s vision is to ensure Nasarawa becomes a model state for agricultural innovation and self-sufficiency.”

In addition to meeting with LOVOL, the statement said Governor Sule will engage with another Chinese company currently constructing a cassava processing factory in Gudi. The factory is expected to convert cassava into starch and other allied products, further enhancing the state’s agricultural value chain.

Observers believe the governor’s visit to China will open new frontiers for partnerships, boosting the state’s position as a leader in agriculture and agro-industrial development.

The outcomes of this visit are expected to further solidify the administration’s efforts to diversify the state’s economy and improve the livelihoods of its citizens.

According to reports, LOVOL Heavy Industries, a producer of tractors and farm equipment, recently supplied rice harvesters used at the state-owned rice farm in Jangwa. This partnership signals Nasarawa’s growing appeal as a hub for agricultural innovation and mechanisation.
