SUBEB boss unveils benue’s digital transformation agenda at FME–UBEC roundtable session

Executive Chairman of the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Grace Adagba, has participated in the Federal Ministry of Education–Universal Basic Education Commission (FME–UBEC) Roundtable Convening Meeting on Digital Resources following her nomination as Member of the National EdTech Committee established by the Federal Ministry of Education for Achieving Learning Outcomes.

 

The high-level engagement at the UBEC Headquarters Abuja, yesterday  focused on strengthening technology adoption, digital innovation, and the deployment of strategic resources to improve learning outcomes across Nigeria’s basic and senior secondary education sectors.

Speaking during the meeting, Dr. Adagba shared insights on Benue State’s ongoing digital education initiatives, as part of the broader digital transformation agenda of His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia. According to her, Benue is to witness the establishment of 13 new Digital Learning Centres (DLCs) across selected schools in the State. She noted that the initiative reflects the Board’s commitment to creating technology-driven learning environments that enhance access to quality educational resources, improve teaching effectiveness, and support modern instructional practices.

The Executive Chairman also pledged the Board’s readiness to domesticate and deploy relevant digital resources and innovations from the Federal Ministry of Education and UBEC to strengthen digital learning interventions in Benue schools.

The recognition of Dr. Adagba as a member of the EDTech Committee is a strategic platform for advancing technology adoption, digital transformation, innovation, and data-driven decision-making in Nigeria’s education sector. The Committee comprises stakeholders from Federal and State Governments, UBEC, NSSEC, SUBEBs, State Ministries of Education, development partners, and other relevant institutions.
