Students Turn Out in Thousands as Soundcity On Tour Delivers Epic Night in Lagos

Soundcity On Tour made a spectacular return to the University of Lagos (UNILAG), drawing over 5,000 students in what became one of the biggest and most memorable campus entertainment events of the year. Despite a heavy downpour, students remained at the venue, demonstrating the unmatched excitement and anticipation surrounding the event.

The UNILAG edition marked the third stop on the Soundcity On Tour nationwide campus tour, following successful events at Pan-Atlantic University (PAU) and Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU). With three campuses successfully completed and 17 more to go, the tour continues to build momentum as it connects with students across Nigeria.

The electrifying evening celebrated music, dance, youth culture, and emerging talent, featuring performances from some of Nigeria’s biggest stars, including Qing Madi, Falz, Joeboy, Wande Coal, and Mr P of P-Square.

Each artist delivered outstanding performances that kept the crowd energized from start to finish.

Beyond the headline performances, the event also served as a platform for the next generation of entertainers. More than 25 rising stars showcased their talent on the Soundcity stage, while participants competed in the BIGI Music Competition  with winners walking away with prizes worth over 5 million inclusive of students scholarships to celebrate Bigi at 10years.

Speaking after the event, Executive Producer Adedeji Adeniji who is also the COO @group8ltd, the parent company of Soundcity Africa described the UNILAG turnout and energy as a defining moment for the tour.

“UNILAG has truly set the bar’’ The energy, resilience, and turnout, even in the rain, were extraordinary. Having successfully completed PAU, OOU and now UNILAG, we’re excited by the momentum we’ve built. We can’t wait to experience the remaining 17 campuses across the country.”

With thousands of fans singing along through the rain, unforgettable performances, and life-changing opportunities for emerging talents, the Soundcity On Tour UNILAG Edition will undoubtedly go down as one for the books.
