South-South APC backs Tinubu for second term in 2027

The South-South Zonal Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged President Tinubu to consider a second term bid in 2027.

The committee made this known in a communique issued at the end of its zonal meeting in Calabar.

The communique was jointly signed by 16 delegates, including Senator Bassey Otu, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Senator Omo-Agege, Tony Okocha and Chief Victor Giadom, among others.

The 14-point communique read in part: “Passes Vote of Confidence on the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, urging him to consider contesting the office of the President for a second term in 2027.

“Passes a Vote of Confidence on the President of the Senate, Sen (Dr) Godswill O. Akpabio, CON, as the Leader of the APC in the zone.

“Commends the President for his commitment to the Coastal Road Project and the commencement of the construction from both ends of the project.

“Reaffirms its unwavering support for the policies and programmes of the present administration in areas of good governance, economic reforms, national security and infrastructural development.

“Committee also thanked Mr President for appointing Chief Nyesom Wike into his cabinet and urged him to continue with his good works.”
