Leadership in Anambra and Entire South East education leaders, innovators, and school owners across Nigeria and beyond are set to converge on Awka, Anambra State, for the highly anticipated South East Educators Conference 2026, a two-day gathering designed to reshape the future of education in the region and beyond.
Scheduled to hold April 15–16, 2026 at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Awka, the conference is expected to attract more than 500 educators, administrators, policymakers, and education entrepreneurs committed to improving learning outcomes and strengthening school systems across the South East.
With the theme “Igniting the Advantage: Schools, Systems, and Skills,” the conference will explore how educators can build resilient schools, develop future-ready learners, and leverage emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence to improve teaching and learning.
At the centre of the transformative initiative is Barr. Doris Chinedu-Okoro, a respected education advocate and CEO of Evergreen Group, whose vision for strengthening teacher capacity and school leadership across the region led to the creation of the conference.
Speaking ahead of the event, Chinedu-Okoro emphasised that the conference is designed to address one of the most pressing needs in the education sector, continuous professional development for educators. She noted that the future of education in Nigeria will depend largely on the capacity of teachers and school leaders to evolve with global trends.
“The fastest way for a school system to decline is when structure and leadership are absent. Education transformation requires systems, strategy, and empowered educators,” she said.

Participants will engage in two days of keynote sessions, panel discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities, all aimed at equipping educators with practical strategies for building high-impact schools. The event will also feature an evening gala designed to celebrate collaboration and strengthen partnerships within the education ecosystem.
Organisers said the conference will serve as a strategic platform for collaboration between public and private education stakeholders, encouraging the exchange of ideas that can help improve educational quality across the region.
With education increasingly shaped by technology, policy reforms, and global competitiveness, the South East Educators Conference is emerging as a critical platform for preparing schools for the future.
For Chinedu-Okoro, the mission is simple but powerful: equip educators to build schools that work, for teachers, for students, and for society.
