Sokoto professionals signs MoU for youth devt, as Sultan commends initiative

As part of efforts in producing resourceful youths in Sokoto state, Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saad Abubakar has lauded a non-partisan group, Sokoto Professionals Network for its many initiatives gearing towards the development of youths in Sokoto State.

Sultan made the commendation at the weekend during the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with three partners and official unveiling of the group’s corporate Secretariat in Sokoto, the state capital.

Sultan Abubakar who was represented by the District Head of Gagi, HRH Alhaji Umar Sani, said the group’s intervention came at the time the country is experiencing a high rate of unemployment among youths.

His words: “We are very pleased with your commitment toward youth development and empowerment. This is a very laudable initiative. We are very proud to associate with you.

“However, Sokoto is known for integrity. In order to succeed, I will urge you to uphold this virtue in all your dealings as a non-partisan group,” the Sultan advised.

The Monarch however charged other spirited Sokoto indigenes to come up with these that can improve the wellbeing of the society.

Earlier, Chairman, Incorporated Trustees of the Network, Engr. Zayyanu Tambari Yabo said the Network core aim is to partner and collaborate with stakeholders for youth development in the state, promote and enhance sustainable professionalism through advocacy and reorientation programmes.

He said the signing of Memorandum of Understanding with three partners is a symbol of good tides awaiting Sokoto youths. “We are also unveiling this temporary secretariat to serve Sokoto youths better for effective communication and interaction.”

Dignitaries at the event include, Speaker, Sokoto State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tukur Bala Bodinga, Permanent Secretary, Special Duties Office, Office of Head of Service of the Federation among others.

Highlights of the event include the tour of the new Secretariat and signing of Memorandum of understanding with Representatives of A.Y. Global Integrated Consult Ltd, ZAKI GEM Support Foundation and JAMA’A Community Development Initiative.
