From Okey Sampson, Umuahia
The Monday sit-at-home, which was late last week called off by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, continued in Aba, the commercial hub of Abia State, yesterday, as traders stayed away from markets as usual.
Information from the city has it that shop owners in major markets, including Ariaria, Ahịa Ọhụrụ (popularly known as Ngwa road market), Cemetery, Asa Nnentu Spare Parts Market, and Ekeoha Shopping Centre were all closed.
However, shops along major streets in the city, as usual, opened for business. Commercial banks, schools, and other public institutions in Aba remained under lock and key.
