PRESIDENT Muhammadu has said that the virtues of the late Umaru Shinkafi, the Marafan Sokoto, in which he had distinguished himself would outlive him.
According to him, his immeasurable contributions for years to come would continue to be remembered by Nigerians.
In the message which was conveyed by a Federal government delegation led by the Minister of Interior, General Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd), to the state government, his family and friends, President Buhari noted that the late Shinkafi had proved himself to be a detribalised politician who was able to demonstrate that it was possible for Nigerians to overcome politics based on ethnic, religious and regional sentiments.
The message was which delivered at Shinkafi’s burial, President Buhari said history would kindly remember Shinkafi for his immense contributions to public administration, democracy and politics as well as the rule of law.
