Vice President Kashim Shettima, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas and former Deputy President of South Africa, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, lead a high-powered list of guests and speakers expected at the ninth edition of the annual Voice of Women Conference & Awards (VOW2025).
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim and British Deputy High Commissioner Abuja, Gill Lever, among others will also grace the event set to hold on Thursday, October 2, at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja, Nigeria.
In a statement sent to Daily Sun on Monday, the organisers said this year’s conference will gather grassroots and urban women, policymakers, and leaders across various sectors to harness the power of collective action in shaping Nigeria’s future.
The statement reads, “With the theme ‘Nigerian Women & The Power of Collective Action’, VOW2025 will spotlight the strength of women’s unity in driving transformative policies and sustainable progress.
“Building on the achievements of VOW2024, which emphasised women’s inclusion for a sustainable Nigeria, this year’s conference deepens the conversation by showcasing how collaboration across class, region, and sector is key to lasting impact.”

Other expected speakers include former First Lady of Ekiti State, Erelu Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi, Sherifat Taleat, Hansatu Adegbite, and Funmilola Paseda Oladoyinbo, alongside other thought leaders committed to strengthening women’s role in national development.
The Convener, Toun Okewale Sonaiya said VOW2025 is not just a gathering but a movement, reaffirming that when women act together, they become a formidable force for equity, justice, and nation-building.
“Irrespective of political affiliation, economic status, ethnic background, faith, age, ability or disability, women must support women. Only then can Nigerian women move from passive participants in governance and leadership to becoming the decisive force that shapes it,” she said.
The Voice of Women Conference & Awards (VOW) is Nigeria’s largest inclusive platform convening key stakeholders from government, media, civil society, grassroots organisations, and the private sector to inspire action and champion inclusion.
