Veteran Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has delivered a strong message to young women, urging them not to define their worth through transactional relationships, social media validation or revealing content.
Speaking during an interview on The Morayo Show, Bello said many young women are being misled into believing that exposing their bodies or chasing online attention is the only path to relevance and success. According to her, true confidence, beauty and influence come from self-respect, purpose and personal growth.
The actress stressed that women do not need to show their bodies to be considered attractive or valuable. She noted that many young girls need positive voices reminding them that popularity and self-worth should not be tied to nudity, viral trends or public approval.

Addressing the growing culture of “runs,” Bello said she understands that some women are pushed into transactional relationships by economic hardship and family responsibilities. She acknowledged that some are trying to support parents, pay school fees or meet basic needs, adding that she does not judge those facing such realities.
However, Bello encouraged them not to remain in that situation permanently, insisting that their circumstances should not determine their future. She said every woman has greater potential and should strive for opportunities that provide dignity, independence and long-term fulfilment.
Reflecting on her own journey, Bello said she remains focused on acting because she believes it is her calling. While many entertainers expand into other ventures for financial gain, she maintained that purpose remains more important than money, adding that success is most meaningful when it aligns with one’s values and mission.
