Professor Barika Dominic Saro-Laka, has told the Federal Government to direct security institutions out of land ownership disputes belonging to EFAB Properties, stating that such a matter should be resolved through the courts.
Professor Saro-Laka, who is the Founder of the Mighty One Empowerment Foundation, during a press briefing yesterday in Abuja, stressed that the dispute goes beyond ownership of a piece of land, adding that the real concern is safeguarding the integrity of public institutions and ensuring that matters already before the courts are resolved through due process rather than force.
He said: “The military and its affiliates must not be used as tools for land grabbing, intimidation, and the enforcement of illegal contracts born out of fraud.”
He maintained that the ownership dispute is already before the courts and urged all parties to allow the judicial process to take its course without interference.
Specifically, he implored President Bola Tinubu, the Minister of Defence, the National Security Adviser and the Chief of Army Staff to ensure that no government institution is deployed in a manner that could undermine confidence in the administration of justice.
“We urge these authorities to intervene immediately and ensure that the rule of law prevails while the dispute is resolved through due process,” Saro-Laka said.
Also, he advised the public and prospective investors to exercise caution over any transactions involving the disputed property until the ownership issues are conclusively determined.
He said: “We advise the general public, investors, and stakeholders to exercise caution regarding any dealings relating to this property pending the resolution of the dispute.”
He vowed to pursue lawful means to protect what he described as legitimate property rights, insisting that allowing the courts to determine the dispute without interference remained the best way to preserve public confidence in the rule of law.
