The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has defeated the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP), Jimi Agbaje to emerge winner of the election.
Announcing the results at the Lagos headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Chief Collation Officer, Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede said Sanwo-Olu won in all the 20 local governments area to defeat Agbaje.
In Agege LGA, APC had 38,515 votes while PDP had 8,371 votes. Ibeji Lekki, APC, 23,298, PDP, 3,320; Amuwo-Odofin APC, 23,267; PDP, 13,700; Ikeja, APC, 28,592 and PDP, 8,109.
In Apapa, APC had 20,469 and PDP scored 5,959; Somolu, APC, 40,408, PDP, 9,991; Eti Osa, APC, 30,504, PDP, 10,068; Oshodi-Isolo, APC, 39,945, PDP, 12,585; Mushin, APC,51,899, PDP 8,751 and Surulere, APC,39,986 while PDP had 13,733 votes.
In Lagos Mainland, APC polled 27,333, while PDP had 7, 265 votes, Lagos Island, APC, 31,991, PDP, 4,346; Epe APC, 35,609, PDP, 6, 464; Ikeja, APC, 28,592, PDP, 8,109; Ikorodu, APC, 45,879, PDP, 14,769; Amuwo Odofin, APC, 23,267 and PDP, 13,700 votes.
In Badagary, APC polled 28,921 votes while PDP had 10,089; Ifako Ijaiye, APC, 35,144, PDP, 7,233; Ajeronmi Ifelodun, APC, 43,975, PDP, 14,690; Alimosho, APC, 78,379, PDP, 22,135 and Ojo, APC, 30,904 and PDP, 9602 votes.
The APC also won 40 out of the 40 seats in the Lagos House of Assembly.
