Salvi Lighting Nigeria Ltd, a subsidiary of Salvi Lighting Barcelona, a leading Spanish company in the lighting sector, has announced its plans to invest in Nigeria’s development by providing proper lighting solutions to market and economic hubs of each state.

CEO of Salvi Lighting Nigeria, Olatunji Adebayo, speaking at the official launch in Lagos recently, said that the company’s entry into the Nigerian market would boost the subnationals’ internally generated revenue (IGR) by enabling businesses to operate for longer hours and attract more economic activities.

“Our dedication to delivering optimal lighting solutions to market and economic hubs in every state aims to stimulate longer business hours, ultimately driving increased economic activity and bolstering state revenues,” Adebayo said.

Adebayo added that Salvi Lighting’s entry into the Nigerian market is expected to contribute to the country’s foreign exchange reserves and also highlighted the company’s commitment to sourcing available raw materials locally, thereby boosting the nation’s economy. “Establishing our business in Nigeria will not only bring more business to the country but also create a positive impact on the inflow of foreign exchange,” he explained.

Detailing the scale of their operations, Adebayo revealed plans for establishing a production factory in Nigeria that will create numerous job opportunities for Nigerians and further contribute to the growth of the local economy. “We also intend to collaborate with government and other relevant stakeholders in the sector to expand our operations across Nigeria.”

In addition, he stated that effective lighting solutions across urban and remote areas would help to address the issue of insecurity in the country, as darkness is one of the factors that facilitate criminal activities. He stressed that illuminating the streets would deter criminals and make people feel safer.

The CEO of Salvi Lighting, Barcelona, Javier Elizalde excited about the development stressed the company’s commitment to quality and service delivery.

“We have been present in the world of lighting for more than a century. As we begin operations here, we aim to focus on the needs of Nigeria and come up with a vertically integrated solution. So, the value proposition we are bringing is to identify the customer’s needs, carry out the research, manufacture, do the installation and carry on with the maintenance as required.
