Former President Goodluck Jonathan has felicitated with the Muslim faithful in Nigeria and the world on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, calling on all to reflect on the great lessons of faith, obedience, and sacrifice.

In a Sallah message he personally signed on Wednesday, the ex-president noted that the season reminds all of the virtues inherent in absolute trust in God even in difficult times.

He also urged Nigerians to pray for peace and security in the nation.

Jonathan said, “On this occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, I extend my warmest greetings to our Muslim brothers and sisters across Nigeria and the world.

“This celebration calls us to reflect on the great lessons of faith, obedience, and sacrifice.

“It reminds us that even in difficult times, absolute trust in God and willingness to put the greater good above ourselves will always lead to a path of blessing and hope.

“Today, our nation is going through challenges that demand our collective prayers and actions, especially for peace and security.

“We must see our diversity as a source of strength, not division.

“True nation-building requires the same spirit of devotion and duty that this festival stands for.

“As we celebrate, let us stand together with renewed resolve to safeguard our country and guarantee a secure, stable, and prosperous future for all Nigerians.

“May God bless our efforts and protect our Federal Republic.”
