The United Women for Peace and Sustainable Progress Initiative (UWPSPI), in collaboration with the 10 Million Voices for Peace Movement, is set to hold the Southeast Peace Pillar Summit 2026 in Enugu, with stakeholders expected to discuss peace, security and sustainable development in the region.
The summit is scheduled for Saturday, 21st November, 2026, at Hotel Sunshine, Presidential Road, Enugu State, from 9am.
Convened by UWPSPI Global President of UWPSPI, Ambassador Vera Chinonye Okadigbo, who is also the Convener of 10 Million Voices for Peace Movement, the event is expected to bring together government officials, traditional and community leaders, civil society groups, youths, women and other peace advocates.
Themed, “Building a Peaceful and Prosperous Southeast: Leadership, Security, Youth Empowerment and Sustainable Development,” the summit will focus on practical ways to address insecurity, promote responsible leadership and create opportunities for young people and women.
A major highlight of the event will be the signing of the Southeast Peace and Progress Accord and the official flag-off of the 10 Million Peace March initiative.
Discussions will also cover good governance, traditional and community leadership, non-violent civic participation and sustainable economic development across the Southeast.
Okadigbo said peace should be treated as a shared responsibility among individuals, communities and institutions.
“Peace is our pillar, unity is our strength, and progress is our future,”
She called on stakeholders and residents across the Southeast to participate in the summit and contribute to efforts aimed at building safer and more developed communities.
The organisers said the summit is expected to provide a platform for dialogue among different stakeholders and develop practical approaches to strengthening peace and development in the region.
