Three Rotary clubs under District 9111 have donated maternity delivery packs to mothers in Lagos State to mark the maternal and child month in the Rotary calendar.
The event, which involved a lot of mothers, took place at the Primary Health Care Centre, Mile 2, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos.
In his remarks, past assistant governor, Allan Emezue said the rotary was fully involved in humanitarian activities. He explained that the exercise was to enlighten the mothers on the need to always care for themselves as nursing mothers, as well as their babies.
A retired matron, Angela Reid, encouraged the women to take care of their health to the best of their ability.
President of Rotary Club of Amuwo Prestige, Jessica Onyike, advised the women to use the materials presented to them with joy, no matter how small they might seem, stressing that it was a gift from Rotary Club.
Meanwhile, President, Rotary Club of Satellite Central, Joy Omoaka, advised the mothers to ensure that they take proper care of themselves and their babies.
Callistus Uju Chijioke, echoed the views of the other presidents.
