The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a 29-year-old suspect, Robinson Uche, in connection with the alleged murder of 42-year-old Shedrack Ogadinma Chukwem, in a case that has taken a disturbing turn.
Police authorities disclosed that the suspect was apprehended following sustained intelligence-led operations, with investigators linking him and four others still at large to the crime.
According to the command’s spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, the suspect was tracked and arrested in the early hours of March 6 by operatives of the Anti-Cultism Unit in Emuoha.
During interrogation, Uche reportedly confessed to taking part in the killing, which occurred on December 17, 2025, in Igbo-Etche area of the state. He told investigators that he and his accomplices were allegedly contracted to bring the victim to a palace linked to a traditional ruler.
