Rita Dominic slams critic over comment on Lekki Wives Reunion appearance

Award-winning actress Rita Dominic has slammed a troll who criticised her appearance on ‘Lekki Wives: The Reunion’, a fresh installment of the 2013 series produced by Blessing Egbe.
In the series, Dominic is cast as a friend of Uju (played by Katherine Obiang), one of five women who live in Lekki and face various trials and tribulations in their lives while trying to achieve their respective goals.
Egbe first announced Dominic’s inclusion on her Instagram on June 16. The new season premiered on June 30 on YouTube.
In a Sunday post on X, the critic @Filmheadi suggested that the popular actress should have outgrown such productions.
“There are certain projects your brand should outgrow, because why is Rita Dominic in Lekki Wives or whatever it is called! Common,” the critic tweeted.
Reacting, the actress said she would not be cajoled into looking down on the industry that birthed her creative talent.
Dominic also urged her colleagues not to allow anyone to pigeonhole them into having such thoughts.
She said, “Dear Actors, only people who have no single drop of artistic integrity speak like this.
“If you listen to them you will soon begin to believe you are more important than the industry that birth you.
“You are an ACTOR so make sure to find a way or platform to release the creative energy in you. Continue to hone your skills regardless of empty comments like this cos knowledge is never-ending – yours truly, Rita.”
