Reps member Dr. Martins Oke distributes four truck loads of rice, beans palliative to constituents in Enugu

The member representing Igbo-etiti/Uzo-Uwani Federal Constituency of House of Representatives Hon. Dr. Martins Oke, has distributed four truck loads of rice and beans to his constituents.

The distribution of the items which took place at the lawmaker’s country home at Aku, in Igbo-etiti LGA of Enugu State, was made to benefit thousands of people cutting across all the wards in the two Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the Federal Constituency.

The emergency food items were facilitated by Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security through Ilocity Global Investment Ltd.

Addressing the representatives of the LGAs and wards during the distribution of the food stuff, the Federal Lawmaker Hon. Dr. Martins Oke who was represented by his Senior legislative aide and constituency coordinator of the distribution, Hon. Chris Ezugwu, disclosed that the rice and beans palliatives were Federal Government funded emergency food items as palliatives to the Constituency through their federal legislators, meant to be shared to members of their constituency and was not a party Affair but for the generality of the people.

Hon. Dr. Martins Oke, elected on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), used the event to once again express profound gratitude to his constituents for considering him worthy to serve them in the green chamber during the last election.

He reiterated his resolve to continue to offer his people responsive leadership and effective representation at the National Assembly, while ensuring that whatever is due to Igbo-etiti/Uzo-Uwani Fed Constituency from the federal level gets to them intact.

The distribution of the items were chaired by the leaders of Igbo-etiti/Uzo-Uwani legislative Houses, Valentine Atunya, and Philip Okoro.

Other members of the committee at the two Local Government Areas include the nominees of the Council Chairman of Igbo-etiti, Hon. Leonard Okenyi; Charles Moses Ugwu, Mathias Ozor, Ikye Ugwueworo, Ngozi Itanyi; nominees of the Chairman of Uzo-Uwani LGA, Hon. Michael Anikezie, SLG Ralph Ezeh, Solomon Gwiyi, Casmir Ademu and Vera Ezugwu.

Members of the committee at the ward level include all the councilors of the two LGAs and one nominee by the MHR in each of the wards across the Constituency.

The Local Govt and Ward Committees and the joyous Traditional Rulers present promised to make the Honourable Member’s dream of a transparent sharing of the Palliatives come through.

The traditional rulers at event commended Dr. Oke for the peaceful organization of the programme as well as vehicles provision to ease conveyance.

Those in attendance include representatives of the traditional rulers across the two LGAs such as HRH Igwe Herbert Ukuta, Agbarakata the 3rd of Igga ancient Kingdom; HRH Christian Eze, Ezeoha na Idoha; Igwe Charles ochi, Igwurube 1 na Ihekwuani, Aku Autonomous Community; HRH Igwe Virgo Ani, Aninaefungwu, Ezedike the 2nd and Eze Igbo nine na Akpugo.
