Reps begin probe of daily fuel consumption

The House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee on probing the volume of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) consumed in the country, daily, commenced sitting, on Tuesday.
The chairman of the committee, Abdulkadir Abdullahi, while speaking at an inaugural session of the panel, said the meeting was to enable the committee adopt a template for its investigation.
The 16 man-panel is saddled with the responsibility of ascertaining the volume of PMS consumed in the country and report back to the House within eight weeks for further legislative actions.
The ad-hoc committee, in the discharge of its duty,  is expected to interface with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), transport workers, experts, as well as other stakeholders, in the  petroleum industry.
