First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the administration of President Bola Tinubu in the face of the the country’s economic challenges.
The President’s wife spoke Monday during a courtesy visit on the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero.
Tinubu, accompanied by governors’ wives, was in the state for the commissioning of the School of Law building at the Maryam Abacha American University, Kano, which was named after her.
” Despite what is going on, you just hold on , we mean well for this nation ….bear with us …we assure Nigerians that we are going to work to make sure that the fortunes of this nation is better….things will get better” she assured..
The First Lady pledged to do everything humanly possible to advance the fortunes of Nigerians throughout her stay in the Government House.
Tinubu also used to occasion to salute the Emir and the people of the state for their tremendous support during the electioneering period while appreciating the warm reception accorded to her on arrival in the state.
In his remarks, the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero observed that there is hunger in the land and prayed the administration to redouble its efforts in tackling the economic challenges afflicting the country.
He admitted that though the challenges did not start with present administration, it has however become alarming under its watch.
The monarch also enjoined the President to resolve the controversy surrounding the relocation of some critical departments of the Federal Aviation Authorities of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to Lagos.
” The issues of Insecurity is another serious problem we are facing, I know your Government inherited it, but something more seriously should be done to take care of the threat” he stated.
Among the entourage of the First Lady were the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jubril; wife of the National Chairman of All Progressive Congress, Hafsat Abdullahi Ganduje; Minister of State for Federal Capital Terrotory, among others.
