For the people of Ogwuari village, Nsugbe community, Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State , it is time to tackle the activities of land grabbers and speculators who had held the area captive and were reaping from where they did not sow.

The criminal elements had held the community by the jugular in the past, causing untold pains to the people until they decided to take their destiny into their hands by saying enough is enough.

Newly elected Chairman, National Executive Committee of the area, Pastor Lawrence Achuwa Ifejika has promised to work with his team to rewrite the history of the Ogwuari people positively.

Pastor Achuwa who spoke during the recent inauguration of the national executives, noted that the joy radiating in the faces of people who trooped out to witness the inauguration was as a result of the liberation they have achieved in the hands of some misguided people who wanted to keep them in perpetual bondage in order to exploit their resources for selfish ends.

He vowed that no one will take away the resources of Ogwuari people anymore because the people have collectively affirmed that enough is enough.

Achuwa also disclosed that the new executives have fulfilled the promise they made during the campaign to pay examination fees for seven indigent people in Ogwuari while they will also ensure that they actualised another promise of sponsoring seven others to travel abroad for further studies.

He appreciated the immediate past chairman, Okey Dibua for his mentorship. He noted that it was Okey that first supported and projected him to be his successor before the elders, youths and other stakeholders accepted and gave him their blessings. He pleaded for the support of the people of Ogwuari to help him achieve his goals,

While inaugurating the elected executives, the Chairman, Anambra State Physical Planning Board, Chike Maduekwe, who was the chairman of the occasion, stated that electing the new executives under Pastor Achuwa’s leadership would make Ogwuari to be one homogeneous community in Anambra State.

He declared that henceforth good things shall happen in Ogwuari while the support of the youths would spur growth and development in the area.

He charged the new executive to always make sure that they embrace peace, harmony and progress, making sure that things that belong to Ogwuari are equitably shared by all Ogwuari members.

Maduekwe urged the executive to ensure that the voice of Ogwuari is heard positively in Anambra State and urged them to cue into Gov. Soludo’s objectives towards establishing a liveable and prosperous homeland.

The Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha-Mba, congratulated the new executive and the new land committee headed by Chibuzo Obalim, praying that God should give them wisdom to pilot the affairs of the village.

Agha-Mba commended the new chairman for putting the youths in the forefront of his manifesto and taking care of the youths need.

He urged them to work on a solid foundation to cue in what the state government is doing, which will make the people to watch Ogwuari and state government running a program in partnership instead of crisis every day.
