In a statement signed by the Media Adviser to the senator, Kayode Odunaro, the distribution of such gifts at festive and unique periods is a tradition that the Senator Adeola has kept over the years as a legislator as part of his representative functions and in fulfilment of religious doctrines of sharing and giving.
The Ramadan package for Muslims, according to the statement, will be distributed to various Muslim organizations and mosques for their members as well as individuals in the next one week.
The package includes 20,000 bags of rice, hampers, cash grants and various quantities of provisions for breaking fast like sugar, beverages and other items.
Senator Adeola, who is also the Chairman Senate Committee on Appropriations, had earlier greeted Muslims at the commencement of fasting and called on them for prayers for the nation and the leadership as part of the fasting exercise.
