Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, House of Representatives member for Kaduna North and son of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has again lambasted the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) over its handling of his father’s case.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, he insisted that the anti-corruption agency lied in its report alleging the recovery of phone-tapping devices during a raid on his father’s Abuja home.
In an earlier statement on Monday, Bello noted that ICPC presented a “list of seized equipment designed to conjure images of espionage and criminality”, including phone tapping equipment.
“This list is a work of fiction, for reasons which will soon become known,” the Monday statement reads in part.

He maintained this stance in his Tuesday Facebook post.
He also reiterated his earlier call challenging the ICPC to charge his father to court if it has a case against him.
Quoting a news report detailing the seized items by the ICPC, Bello El-Rufai said, “Let me correct it for you. ICPC confirmed that they lied after I denied their so called reports.
“They should charge Mallam to court and prove he is the thief they claim.
“No media campaign will succeed as long as I am around by the grace of God. I will counter it day and night. If they had lied again. I would have posted the picture of the list of everything they illegally took from Mallam’s house in the horrible handwriting of their own agent. Thanks.”
