QNET, has highlighted the importance of safe drinking water as a critical factor for health, dignity and overall well-being, especially at the household level.
The company made this known in a statement to mark the 2026 World Water Day, themed “Water and Gender,” noting that water safety remains central to daily living and family care.
QNET pointed the growing global and local concerns around access to potable water. Citing data from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme, it stated that about 2.2 billion people worldwide still lack safely managed drinking water, while 115 million depend on untreated surface water.

In Nigeria, the situation remains worrisome, with only about 21.7 per cent of the population having access to safely managed drinking water, despite nearly 70 per cent relying on basic water sources that are often unsafe, particularly in rural communities.
Speaking on the development, General Manager of QNET Nigeria, Ayokunmi Solesi, described water safety as more than a public health issue.
“Water safety is not only a public health issue; it is an everyday quality-of-life issue. When families have confidence in the water they drink and use at home, it directly supports health, energy and overall well-being,” he said.
He further noted that in many Nigerian homes, women play a central role in managing family health and daily routines, making access to safe water even more crucial. According to him, this aligns with the company’s 2026 global theme, “Energised, Every Day,” which focuses on practical solutions that enhance daily living.
Solesi pointed to the company’s HomePure Nova water filtration system as part of efforts to improve water quality at the point of use. The system, he said, is designed with multi-stage filtration technology to help reduce impurities in drinking water.
Beyond water solutions, QNET said its product range also includes wellness and lifestyle offerings such as Amezcua, EDG3 Plus, ProSpark and the Bernhard H. Mayer OMNI Watch, which has received recognition for sustainability-driven design.
He added that World Water Day serves as a reminder that access to clean water goes beyond hydration.
“Cleaner water supports healthier homes, reduces avoidable household health risks and helps ease daily pressures linked to water access, particularly for women who often carry primary responsibility for family care and wellbeing,” Solesi said.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to promoting healthier lifestyles in Nigeria through consumer education, stakeholder engagement and community-focused initiatives, stressing that safe water remains fundamental to everyday well-being.
