The transfer market in Qatar closed on Tuesday, eliminating any chances for Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq to leave.

He now faces a challenging situation at Real Sociedad until at least January.

After the transfer deadlines in Turkey, Russia, and Saudi Arabia closed, the chances of Sadiq joining Al-Sadd or Al-Duhail diminished, even though both clubs had shown interest.

Umar Sadiq returned to group training on Tuesday after working on regaining his physical fitness while training on the sidelines.

However, it seems unlikely that coach Sergio Francisco will provide him with any immediate opportunities. “The only goal is for him to regain his fitness so he can train with the group as soon as possible. I’m not ruling out that it could be next week,” the Txuri-Urdin coach stated ahead of the upcoming match against Real Madrid, suggesting he has limited hope for Sadiq’s reintegration into the team.

Sadiq trained at the club’s Zubieta training ground on Tuesday after a day of rest. The blue-and-white team is preparing for their match against Betis on Friday night.
