… Set to rival Real Madrid
Paris Saint-Germain has reopened its pursuit of Victor Osimhen only a few months after the Super Eagles forward joined Galatasaray permanently.
PSG’s renewed interest is an indication that manager, Luis Enrique has unexpectedly reversed his long-standing opposition to signing the Nigerian striker, according to a Goal.com report.
The reigning Champions League winner is now prepared to rival Real Madrid, who has also been linked with a move for Osimhen in recent days.
For months, former Barca boss, Enrique had resisted the idea of bringing Osimhen to Paris, reportedly concerned that the forward’s fiery temperament might disrupt the team’s balance. But internal discussions at PSG have shifted sharply in recent weeks.
Declining performances from Gonçalo Ramos, coupled with limitations in the team’s attacking structure, have forced a strategic rethink.
The reports suggest that PSG sporting director, Luis Campos, who has maintained discreet links with Osimhen during his time at Galatasaray, has now been given approval to intensify negotiations.
