Amid the ongoing hunger protests in different parts of the country, the Nigerian military has vowed to act if things escalate further.
Speaking in a press conference held in Abuja on Friday, General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, called the ongoing looting, loss of lives, and destruction of properties “crazy”.
According to him, the armed forces will not stand by and watch the protests degenerate further as an intervention would take place.
Musa’s warning comes against the backdrop of escalating reports of violence in several states as citizens continue to express frustrations by taking to the streets.

However, some regions have witnessed calm, with residents opting to ignore the protests.
Daily Sun reported earlier that those living in Imo State chose to shun the demonstrations by obeying the sit-at-home order on Monday.
On Tuesday, activities resumed as businesses opened, with residents going about their daily routine.
