President Bola Tinubu has described Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director General of the World Trade Organization, as a respectable ambassador of Nigeria.
Tinubu said Okonjo-Iweala exemplifies Nigerians’ grit, diligence, and intellect.
He made the comment when celebrating Nigeria’s former finance minister on her 70th birthday.
In a statement by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, the President expressed his congratulations to the great leader and her family on this historic occasion.
Tinubu praised the former Minister of Finance for her contributions to the nation and efforts to strengthen institutions.
The statement reads: “President Tinubu also commends the Director-General of the World Trade Organization for being a worthy ambassador of Nigeria, exemplifying the grit, diligence, and brilliance that Nigerians are known for.
“The President prays for many more years in good health for Dr. Okonjo-Iweala and her family.”
