Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike said political activities, including forthcoming Area Council elections in Abuja, would not be allowed to ground developmental projects in the nation’s capital.
Wike made the vow during an inspection tour of ongoing projects in the FCT on Wednesday.
He said there is a time for politics which must not interfere with governance, noting that the welfare of residents must supersede politicking.

The minister said, “Politics is different. You have to serve the people. Politics has its own time, and the work will continue to go on. Politics is not going to affect it.”
The former Rivers governor maintained that the people were more interested in seeing visible results and assured them that the sincerity of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda would be proven through quality projects.
“The only way to make sure that people will be happy and see that the Renewed Hope Agenda is real is to continue with the work,” the minister said.
Some of the inspected projects include Institutional Research Road, which links Nile University, the Body of Benchers and other institutions; Body of Benchers extension building; and the seven-kilometre extensive road corridor running from Euclid Road through Bright Road to Tungan Madaki.
