Police restore normalcy to Wuse market

The Federal Capital Territory(FCT), police command said it has restored normalcy to the popular Wuse market after angry traders burnt down some section of the market over the killing of two person by a police officer.

The deceased who was said to had been charged and convicted by a mobile court sitting in Irgun the market was shot dead by a trigger happy cop after he tried to escape.

The killing of the innocent man was said to have angered the traders and customers to the market who burnt down a section of the market and some cars at the marches park.

Men of the FCT fire service and other fire fighters were deployed to the scene to put out the fire.

The pandemonium that ensued, led to the closure of the market after the FCT commissioner of police Benneth Igwe, visited the market.

The CP, who personably led the response teams to the scene appealed to the traders not to take laws into their hands and put the situation under control.

FCT, police public relations officer, Josephine Adeh, said police operatives are presently on ground and normalcy has been restored.
