The Delta State Police Command has  rescued a kidnapped woman and arrested suspected drug barons in separate operations across the state.

In a statement, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Bright Edafe, explained  that, on October 12, 2025, operatives from the Ovian Aladja Police Division responded swiftly to a distress call from a man whose home had been raided by gunmen in the early hours of the morning. The attackers reportedly robbed the family and kidnapped the man’s wife during the assault.

“The Divisional Police Officer, CSP Friday Ekundayo, immediately mobilised his team and launched a pursuit. Acting on intelligence, the officers tracked the kidnappers to a forest near Iyara community. Their relentless efforts forced the suspects to abandon the victim, who was rescued unhurt and has since been reunited with her family. A manhunt for the fleeing suspects is ongoing.

“In a separate operation, operatives of the Crack Squad, Delta State Command, Asaba, acting on credible intelligence, stormed a hideout in Effurun GRA around 5 a.m. the same day. The team arrested two suspects namely Igwe Samson,33 and Abalum Sundt, who were in possession of a stolen Sienna vehicle and a significant quantity of illicit drugs.
