Police recover 3 pistols from cultists in Asaba

The Delta State Police Command has arrested three suspected cultists and recovered firearms.The police also recovered a stolen vehicle from another criminal gang.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer ( PPRO), SP Bright Edafe said on June 29, operatives of CP – Special Assignment Team (CP – SAT), led by ASP Julius Robinson, acting on credible intelligence, stormed Yoruba Street,Sapele town and arrested one Rasheed Atanda, 31, a native of Irinle community of Kwara State resident in Sapele town. “Preliminary investigation further led the operatives to arrest other suspects, including: Charles Oyowe, 36, native of Obeda, Warri North LG, Delta State, in whose possession a Beretta pistol with three rounds of live ammunition was recovered, Rewane Ogbitse, 49 ,native of Jakpa, Warri South LG,Delta state, and Shedrack Oloko, 44, native of Ethiope East LG of Delta state. All the suspects confessed to being members of the EYE confraternity. Suspects are in custody and investigation is ongoing.”

  “In a separate operation, operatives of CP – Special Assignment Team (CP – SAT) on June 30, recovered a Lexus 330 SUV earlier reported stolen during a case of armed robbery. Sequel to the complaint received, it was gathered that the suspects, armed with dangerous weapons, invaded a residence in the early hours of the day, carting away expensive jewelry, mobile phones, and Lexus 330 SUV with registration number: RBC 656 CN. Following swift investigation and deployment of intelligence assets, the stolen vehicle was recovered around 6:36 am at UTI Road, off DSC Expressway, Ebrumede. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing members of the gang.
