Police nab 4 suspected kidnappers, rescue victim

The Delta State Police Command has arrested four kidnapped suspects and rescued a victim. 

The suspects were arrested at Ogwashi-Uku forest in Aniocha South Local Government  of the state, where the victim was also rescued with a gunshot injury on  his leg.

In a statement by Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Bright Edafe,“The command received a distressed call on September 8, 2025, about a young man kidnapped from his residence in Ogwashi-Uku. After collecting a ransom of N2 million, the suspects shot the victim for not providing more money.”

“ Acting swiftly, the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Squad, led by CSP Godwin Osadolor, tracked the suspects into the bush, rescued the victim, and launched an intelligence-led operation that led to the arrest of Chukwuebuka Nka,25, Uche Okechukwu  and Somto Chukwuma,18, across Delta and Anambra States. 

“ Recovered items include: the victim’s white Venza SUV, the gang’s operational Toyota Matrix, and a network jammer used during the crime. 

“ The suspects are in custody, and investigations are ongoing”, he stated.
