Police Arrest Trio for Alleged Kidnapping Plot in Nasarawa

In a swift operation, police operatives from Mararaba ‘A’ Division apprehended three suspects allegedly involved in a kidnapping scheme in Nasarawa State. Babangida Abdullahi, Mohammed Abubakar, and Yakubu Sani, all residents of Aso B Mararaba, Karu LGA, Nasarawa State, were taken into custody.

 

According to the police report sent to journalist on Tuesday stated that the trio conspired to extort Ibrahim Idris, an uncle of one of the suspects, by threatening to abduct him unless he paid a ransom of Two Million Naira. The victim, fearing for his safety, complied with the demand and deposited the entire sum at the designated location.

DSP Ramhan Nansel,the Police Public Relations Officer, who signed the release stated, “The suspects have all confessed to the commission of the crime.” He further added, “Efforts are underway to apprehend one member of the syndicate who narrowly escaped arrest.”

Expressing the commitment of the police force to combat crime, DSP Nansel emphasized, “We will spare no effort in ensuring the safety and security of the citizens of Nasarawa State.” He urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities promptly.
