Postmaster General of the Federation and CEO, Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), Adeyemi Sunday Adepoju, has congratulated Christians and Nigerians as they celebrate Christmas and the New Year.
In his Christmas/End of Year message, he urged Nigerians to reflect on the tenets of Christianity, which harped on perseverance, faithfulness, determination and peace.
He said, “irrespective of our religious differences and affiliations, we can draw immense strength and inspiration from the enduring legacies of the life and times of Jesus Christ, who gave His life for the redemption of our souls.”
He urged Christians to use the festive occasions to pray for unity, peace and prosperity of Nigeria: “The forthcoming general election provides the people with the opportunity to do everything to sustain our democracy.
“It is pertinent for Nigerians to make it part of their New Year resolution to ensure that we all play our constitutional roles to ensure that we have peaceful, credible, free and transparent elections in February and March, 2023.
“The coming elections provide a golden opportunity for the mass of our people to make judicious use of their permanent voter’s cards (PVC) to elect credible and God-fearing individuals who would move the nation forward.”
Adepoju disclosed that he has mapped out strategies to energise and properly position NIPOST in collaboration with the board not only to regain its lost glory but also to make it the best in Africa in terms of innovative ideas, new thinking and administrative ingenuity.
“The central core of this progressive agenda will rest on a robust welfare package, with a human face, for all categories of NIPOST staffers. No idea can germinate in an environment of poor morale and general discontentment.”
