PDP BoT shifts meeting to Yar’Adua Centre as police bar members from Wadata Plaza

From Ndubuisi Orji, Abuja

Policemen deployed to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national secretariat prevented members of the Board of Trustees (BoT) from gaining access to Wadata Plaza on Monday, June 30, 2025.

The PDP BoT was scheduled to meet amid rising tension in the opposition party over the controversy surrounding the office of the national secretary and the holding of the 100th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

However, following the police action, the BoT shifted its meeting to the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in the Central Business District, Abuja.

Former PDP national secretary, Umar Tsauri, told journalists that the security operatives claimed to be acting on “orders from above” and that no meeting was to be allowed at Wadata Plaza.
