From Ndubuisi Orji, Abuja
Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Navy, Yusuf Gagdi, has said the losses suffered by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Plateau State Elections appeal panel are self inflicted.
Gagdi, in a statement, cautioned the PDP against blaming the judiciary or any individual for the woes. He said it is delusional for the opposition party to be blaming him and the judiciary for the losses.
Recall that the PDP acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, had at a press briefing, accused the All Progressive Congress ( APC) of allegedly snatching its victories in Plateau through the judiciary.
However, the lawmaker noted that the opposition party after allegedly abusing due process in the conduct of the nomination of its candidate in Plateau, should blame itself for its current travails.
According to him, “for the PDP in Plateau to now act surprised at its fate and desperately look for whom to blame for their woes is the height of hypocrisy, and a disgrace to decency and due process.
“While we rejoice with utmost decorum, and relish our victory at the Appeal Court, and anticipating a possible victory at the Supreme Court for our gubernatorial candidate, we want to categorically remind the PDP and its hirelings that Nigerian Courts are courts of law, not courts of sentiments and emotions. Their shenanigans cannot intimidate the court to act against the law and laid down precedents.”
