Plateau PDP ready to take over power in 2023- Akans, Publicity Secretary
From Gyang Bere, Jos
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Plateau State said the party is adequately prepared to take over power in 2023.
Addressing Journalists in Jos on Tuesday, the State Publicity Secretary, John Akans said the party is well prepared to return Plateau to its heritage which has been bastardized by the failed APC government.
He urged the residents to vote massively for the PDP to secure the people and enthrone good governance for the overall development of the state.
“As a focused, experienced party who has been on top of several elections we shall remain thus. The party is fully ready to take over government come 2023. As the wise saying goes, the goat does not suffer parturition while the elders are at home.
“We call on voters across the state to be wary and disregard the fake and deceitful propaganda by Governor Lalong on the legitimacy and existence of the Peoples Democratic Party.
“We wish to drum to the public that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Plateau chapter will participate fully in the 2023 elections and to state too that what Plateau people need from Lalong for his remaining days in office is good governance not this packaged lies and propaganda he holds on to as campaign documents trying to mislead the public including the helpless electorates.”
He said Lalong has abandoned Plateau people who are now battling under the scourge of kidnappers, criminality and other forms of insecurity.
“The leadership of the PDP on the Plateau is saddened by the state of affairs in the State. It is very clear that Plateau state is under siege with gladiating actors like the APC and Governor Lalong overrunning our state and daily eroding our heritage.
“The Governor in his usual manner has abandoned pressing issues of governance in the state for his personal interest while Plateau people are facing a bitter experience as a result of leadership vacuum created by Lalong’s consistent absence.
“These perilous situations have left governance in the state stagnant while Lalong has continued to compromise the interest of the people, the Governor and his deputy have not been on their seat to address related crimes, corruption, kidnappings, and terrorism challenges Plateau people are facing, which is on the increase in the state.
“We caution Lalong not to further waste the acclaimed lean state resources in campaign activities of Tinubu, while most government officials in the state have equally abandoned their responsibility for political and personal business due to Lalong’s absence.” He stated.
