The Executive Chairman of Langtang North local government council of Plateau State, Barr Bitrus Zulfa Rimven, has dismissed the vote of no confidence passed on him and the alleged impeachment by some legislators in the council.
Rimven in a statement signed on Tuesday in Jos said he remained the Executive Chairman of Langtang North local government council of Plateau State.
The chairman was reacting to a report that he had been impeached by councillors in the council.
“I was not served any impeachment notice on the 31st August 2022 or any other day by my Honourable legislators, come to think of failing to respond to any allegations the councillors raised,” he said.
“I still remain the Executive Chairman of the council as elected by the good people of Langtang North local government and we alongside the hard-working legislators are working out modalities to improve the living condition of the people of the council.

“As we approach the 2023 general elections, the APC cannot afford to allow people and some fifth columnist to undermine the success of the party, as any right-thinking member of any political party will ensure unity at this crucial time. I have never been served any impeachment notice and currently still carrying out my official duties as council boss.”
Barr Rimven described the allegations of corruption against him by some of the councillors as false and lies from the pit of hell “I would always continue to carry all stakeholders along while serving the people of Langtang North.
“I want to make it categorically clear that the public should disregard any information that I have been impeached. urge party supporters to please remain calm and be law-abiding as we continue to work to provide dividends of democracy to the people of Langtang North.”
Barr Bitrus Zulfa Rimven was impeached on Tuesday by the legislative arm of the council who voted to impeach him after passing a vote of no confidence on him.
