Speaker of Plateau State House of Assembly, Joshua Madaki, said the House will consider the review of the law on Park and Pay policy on the premises of medical centres in the state.
Madaki, spoke when Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (APCN) paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Jos, the state capital, yesterday.
He hinged his decision on the public outcry made by APCN members, who complained that several lives have been lost due to lack of parking space in the state.
The speaker said the law would likely be reviewed to exempt the premises of pharmacies and medical centres because of the crucial services they provide for citizens.
“The House will sit to deliberate the need to review the park and pay policy, to exempt the premises of pharmacies and medical centres in the state, in view of the essential and emergency services they render to the society,” he said.
He noted that the park and pay policy was instituted in public places in the state, with a view to boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state.
