The National Leadership of Ex-agitators, Phase One, Imo State chapter, has expressed satisfaction over the Federal Government and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited’s (NNPCL) determination to re-award Pipeline Monitoring Surveillance contract to Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd.
The group in an open letter sent to the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu dated October 23, and signed by Nwokotubo Andrew Vocor and Prince Emeka Igwe, national leaders respectively, lauded President Bola Tinubu’s leadership prowess in tackling the nation’s energy issues.
Their letter with entitled; “Re: Compliments on the Re-award of the Pipeline Surveillance contract to Tantita Security Services Nig. Ltd”, the group added that such action has indeed solved the agitation of the Southeast region of their inclusion in the surveillance of the pipeline contract monitoring.
“We wish to inform that we as the apex leaders of Southeast extraction with particular interest in Imo State that made up of the Phase 1 Presidential Amnesty Programme and the only Phase in the Southeast region, hereby categorically state that the struggle for the emancipation of the Niger Delta region was never and is not presently fought by any particular tribe alone in the Niger Delta region. Therefore, in order not to escalate the insecurity already experienced in the Southeast region, we are of the opinion that the action of the Federal Government was in order and we support it.
“We also seize this opportunity to thank the Federal Government of Nigeria and NNPCL for re-awarding the Pipeline Monitoring/Surveillance contract to Tantita Security Services Nig Ltd with a handsome handshake and loads of appreciation.
