Hon Abraham Ajiya, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed optimism about the party’s revival, stating it will regain its prominence with the right leaders in place.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun in Abuja, Ajiya highlighted ongoing reconciliation efforts by party stalwarts, including Bukola Saraki and Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, as key to restoring the PDP’s strength.
“I can tell you that many things are going to take shape soon,” Ajiya said, noting the party’s recent reshuffling of its Board of Trustees (BoT) and steps to resolve leadership disputes. He acknowledged that internal crises have fuelled defections but believes these challenges are being addressed.

Ajiya also reaffirmed his candidacy for PDP Zonal Vice-Chairman, North Central, ahead of the zonal election in Jos, Plateau State, next weekend.
“I am ready to confront these challenges head-on and work tirelessly to reclaim the states we have lost to the opposition,” he declared, urging delegates to dismiss rumours of his withdrawal. “I am the right party man for the job. The time has come for the North Central to rise and take its destiny into its own hands.”
His comments align with recent PDP reconciliation drives led by Saraki to quell crises and halt defections before the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in late May 2025.
