Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has described the Ali Modu Sheriff faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a spoiler.
He made the declaration at Obiaruku, Ukwuani Local Government Area of the state during a stakeholders’ forum of Delta north PDP.  His words: “PDP Senators, members of House of Representatives, all the governors and former governors are supporting Alhaji Ahmed Markafi as recognized Caretaker Committee Chairman of the PDP, the Sheriff group are just playing the role of spoilers, but, don’t throw them away, provide enabling environment for them to be active in our party because, they are our brothers and sisters.”
The governor, who enjoined the stakeholders to eschew politics of bitterness, promised that his administration would not encourage imposition of candidates but would abide by democratic norms.
Cairo Ojougboh, who is the Deputy National Chairman of the Modu Sheriff faction, hails from Agbor, the homestead of the governor.
